"A COURSE OF ACTION"

I woke up one morning with excruciating back pain. I had the sort of pain that brings tears. I called local chiropractic offices, this was on a Friday. Webster Lake Chiropractic was the first to call me back. This was not a great way to choose a doctor, but I needed help, and fast!!

Dr. Sherman saw me that day. I felt as though I was talking with a caring, outgoing and pro-active doctor. He saw my problem and we set on a course of action to resolve my back pain. He then showed me how to have and keep a healthy back. Thanks, Dr. Sherman, for all your help.

"NO SURGERY WITH STENOSIS"

The diagnosis of spinal stenosis was frightening. As an R.N. certified in orthopedics, my only thought was surgery. Left leg and low back pain made living very uncomfortable. I had difficulty lifting my leg to dress myself. Climbing the stairs became difficult. My present residence has two flights of stairs, would I have to relocate?

I chose chiropractic treatment, and this was a wise choice. Pain is now infrequent. Leg movement and strength has improved significantly. Surgery is not imminent, nor is relocation. I am very pleased with this treatment and plan to continue to do exercises and use good body mechanics as well as having maintenance care.

"NO MORE EAR INFECTIONS"

My four year old son has been suffering from chronic ear infections over the past two winter seasons. Nearing the end of this past winter, I was completely frustrated by the near monthly pediatrician visits and the numerous antibiotic prescriptions with no lasting effects. My very active happy boy, who had been healthy in every other way, needed relief from fluid filled ears and frequent pain. I began to search out a more preventative approach to solving this chronic problem. I chose chiropractic care for my son after hearing and reading about some very promising results with other children. I must say that the pediatrician and insurance company thought it quite odd to refer a child to chiropractic care but persistence pays off.

During the long weekend between the first two appointments, my son began to complain of the usual ear pain (it had been just about a month from the last round of antibiotics). Recent history had shown that letting his ear pain go for more than a day without treatment would be disastrous. We chose to keep our chiropractic appointment to determine if this type of care was truly going to be successful. And it was!! With the same five minute visit as the first, my son's complaints disappeared and have not returned. We have continued with regular visits and plan to schedule preventative follow up appointments as well. Our next visit to the pediatrician will not be for an ear infection, but my sons five year old physical!

"HELPING FAMILIES"

My name is Kerri and I started coming to Dr. Sherman's office after a car accident. I was in a lot of pain in the back and neck areas. Over some time, things started to improve and I was feeling better. Dr. Sherman's office is very caring and friendly. He's a great Doctor and makes you feel as if you've known him forever. I actually enjoy coming in.

About my son Brody, he's 13. I brought him in to the office after he started complaining about aches and pains in his hands and fingers. After getting no answers with numerous visits and tests at other offices, I brought him here to Webster Lake Chiropractic. After just 4 visits he was pain free. He now looks forward to playing baseball this spring! He doesn't even mind coming in for care, he actually thinks its kind of fun.

"EARLY PREVENTION"

Should I get a checkup with a chiropractor? That was the question I asked myself a number of weeks ago. I first contemplated this question when a fellow co-worker suggested I should consider getting a checkup just to make sure my back was in good alignment, and I was not going to run into trouble later in life with some issue that could have been corrected earlier. My co-worker had waited until his ability to work was hindered and he was undergoing intense therapy to correct his spinal problems. I believe in preventing problems from the start, and not waiting until an issue gets very bad before it is fixed. In my line of work as an automotive technician back problems and other aches and pains are very common. I had seen what untreated problems could result in: less productivity at work, time out of work and chronic pain etc...

I did not realize I had any problems with my back at that time except for occasional soreness. I consulted with Dr. Sherman after doing a search for local chiropractors. I am glad I chose his office because he performed a thorough checkup and found that my range of motion was not equal on both sides of my body. My right side having reduced flexibility than the left side, he also found a lot of tension in my neck and what I thought was a normal condition was certainly not. He put together a plan to get me back into "alignment". After a number of visits I began noticing a change for the better. Gradually my range of motion increased and tension went away.

Dr. Sherman gave me many useful stretches and exercises to improve my progress. He also instructed me on correct posture and I also learned quite a bit about how the spine functions. By the end of treatment I was able to exercise and work more effectively and my soreness went away and my range of motion was equal on both sides of my body. I owe a special thanks to Dr. Sherman for helping me to obtain a good back and prevent me from major problems later in life. I would also like to thank his assistant Lisa, who was able to work with my schedule and make my visits very convenient.

"ENJOYING THE EXERCISE BALL"

I cannot say enough good things about the exercise ball. Dr. Sherman introduced it to my home exercise program of care to promote more progress with chiropractic care. Once I started using the ball I couldn't believe how much easier it was for me to do my exercises at home.

Not only is it easier for me, I also get more range of motion in my stretches, so it is helping me feel better than I did with standard stretches. I actually enjoy exercising at home with the ball. It makes me feel great and it is fun! It is so much fun my four year old can't wait for me to finish my exercises so she can use it.
